About The Event

This workshop is a part of the Wellness Weekend MB 2026

The workshop is intuitive and improvisationally focussed. It aims to offer movement principles that continue to inform, support and care in the journey - a flexible framework for entering enquiry. The session invites that we treat the body through sensation, and curiosity to be with what is. Beginning with an opening circle - it often moves into establishing our relationship with the ground, moving safely in and out of the floor, listening through touch, and later exploring nervous system-informed ways to both offer and receive weight with honesty and care. A key concern is to be available to listen to what capacity of support we have - we discover together - all is welcome and all is okay.

Ryan trained in dance at the London Contemporary Dance School. Since graduating, he has worked with Contact Improvisation in performance settings across the UK, Europe, and Asia. For over eleven years, his practice has continued to inform movements between Contact Improvisation, bodywork, and everyday relational enquiry - how bring in contact with another body can become a study of supportive ways of being in life.

Danielle trained early in dance at the Contemporary Dance School in Perth, and later auditioned to become a core dancer with the 'Steps' youth contemporary dance company. It was during this time that she worked with a choreographer from New York who introduced her to the principles of what is now known as 'Contact Improvisation'. Danielle has travelled the world studying different styles of dance from tribal African, classical Indian and many small island cultures, Indonesian, Cook Islands and tribal belly dancing. She continues to support dance in the community as a way of connecting with others.
