About The Event
An evening of magical mysticism and the tranquility of the rainforest at Sundance, to transport you into a paradigm of exquisite music that echoes the Himalayan culture in joyful Tibetan Song and glorious Indian Flute.
Tenzin Choegyal is one of a handful of artists keeping Tibet’s music alive in the freedom of exile. Considered one of the world’s finest Tibetan musicians, Tenzin is a master of traditional Tibetan instruments the lingbu (bamboo flute) and the dranyen (3-stringed lute) but is best known for his extraordinary vocal ability and his performance of droklu, the nomadic music of his parents.
Taro Terahara is a leading musician in Japan’s thriving and highly competitive Indian classical music scene. He is a master of the traditional Indian bansuri (bamboo flute) which, he explains, beautifully captures the sound of the air, the mountains and the uplifting devotional mood of Krishna. Taro’s music soars, swoops and transports listeners to realms of pure sound, engaging the mind and touching the heart.
